This presentation is intended to provide substance abuse training to clinical professionals who work with a range of at-risk sexual behaviors. It will focus on defining the term “addiction,” identifying the diagnostic criteria of substance use disorders, and will cover material related to identifying and addressing high risk sexual behaviors among substance abuse populations. In addition, the workshop will provide education on chemical dependency and sexual behaviors related to specific categories of substance use and key topics to consider when patients’ endorse ongoing illicit substance use and sexual challenges related to such use.
