AASECT Individual Supervision and Consultation

Join Me for Personalized AASECT Individual Supervision

I’m thrilled to offer individual supervision to current students and alumni of the TSHS Certificate in Sexual Health Program, anyone pursuing AASECT certification or anyone who wants to deepen their skills and expand your knowledge. I especially encourage aspiring Latinx and BIPOC sex therapists, sexuality counselors, and individuals from other marginalized or underrepresented groups to reach out.

Whether you’re working toward certification or want to deepen your skills and expand your knowledge, I’m here to support you. My goal is to create a space where you can grow, sharpen your expertise, and build a professional network. To make the most of our time together, having sex therapy or counseling clients on your caseload is essential.

If you’re ready to start individual supervision, please apply using the link below. I look forward to working with you and being part of your journey!

WHAT YOU’LL GET?

  • Move from Theory to Practice: Move beyond theory and start transforming your understanding into interventions that create meaningful change in your clients’ lives.
  • Challenge Traditional Frameworks: Explore how to move beyond Eurocentric models of therapy by integrating decolonizing practices that honor diverse cultural perspectives and lived experiences.
  • Get Honest, Supportive Feedback: Supervision offers a safe and collaborative space where you can receive clinical feedback you can trust.
  • Explore Cultural Dynamics: Increase your awareness of how cultural, gender, and ethnic differences—between you and your supervisor or you and your clients—affect the therapeutic process. Together, we’ll unpack the impacts of bias, prejudice, and stereotyping.
  • Cultivate Cultural Humility: Supervision will help you develop self-awareness around cultural humility, focusing on your attitudes, knowledge, and skills in this critical area.
  • Reflect on Worldviews: We’ll explore your worldview, your clients’ worldviews, and how your intersectional identities shape the therapeutic relationship.
  • Align Your Values and Ethics: You’ll identify the values guiding your practice and learn how to apply ethical and legal standards to real-world cases.
  • Build a Supportive Community:

Connect with like-minded peers who are on a similar journey, sharing support and learning together in a collaborative environment.

Supervision isn’t just about learning—it’s about growing

into the best therapist you can be! Let’s take this journey together.

Let’s Tackle Those Tough Cases Together

If you’re navigating a tricky case or grappling with a specific issue, I’m here to help. Consultations are a great option for professionals who need guidance without committing to an ongoing relationship.

These are typically one-time or occasional sessions focused on solving specific challenges or gaining fresh insights into particular cases. It’s not about broader professional development—it’s about giving you the support you need right now.

Whether you’re an experienced professional looking for a second opinion or just need some additional expertise, consultation can help you find clarity and direction. Let’s work together to find solutions!

A Little About Me

Hola, hi, aloha! I’m a proud Mexican American, born and raised in the Chicagoland area, but I’ve called Hawaii home for the last 20 years. I’m also the first in my family to graduate from college and earn a doctorate degree, a journey that has shaped much of who I am today.

Early in my career, I didn’t always feel a sense of community within the sexual health field. Much of my education was rooted in white-centric frameworks, which often left me feeling disconnected. However, founding The Sexual Health School, connecting with others from similar backgrounds, and embracing decolonizing practices have been truly liberating and transformative experiences for me.

I thrive on structure and organization and have always been driven to help others. With over 20 years of experience in social work and mental health, I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), a clinical psychologist, and an AASECT-certified sex therapist and supervisor.

Now, my passion is focused on helping others—like you—navigate the complexities of your personal and professional journeys. Let’s work together to create space for growth, healing, and liberation.
