ABOUT THE PROGRAM

The Sexual Health Certification Program caters to aspiring sex therapists, counselors (pre-licensed or licensed), students, therapists, and healthcare professionals seeking comprehensive knowledge in diverse sexual health areas. The certification covers subjects like evidence-based approaches to sexual dysfunction, improving sexual communication, and examining the interplay between sexual expression, gender identity, and sexual diversity.

Our courses are designed to be completed online, incorporating both live synchronous sessions and self-paced asynchronous learning modules, as stipulated by AASECT requirements. Our instructors comprise a diverse panel of expert-level professionals in sex therapy, sex education, sex counseling, medical practice, and more, offering a rich array of perspectives to the field. It's worth noting that 75% of our human sexuality courses are taught by Latinx and BIPOC professionals. Our program is rooted in comprehensive sex education practices and upholds affirmative care philosophies and sex-positive approaches, including evidence-based methods like mindfulness, relational attachment, somatic therapy, and psychopharmacology.

The heart of the Sexual Health Program lies in a commitment to enhancing access for Latinx and BIPOC individuals, thereby increasing their representation within the communities and clients they serve.

In doing so, we aspire to reduce disparities in access for ethnically diverse groups and destigmatize human sexuality in these communities, all while adhering to our core values of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

We acknowledge that underrepresented groups often face additional barriers to accessing resources and support. Our mission is to rectify this by promoting equitable processes and procedures and ensuring fair and impartial access to our services.

The Sexual Health Program aims to empower Latinx and BIPOC professionals, in particular, to become leaders in the field of human sexuality, by creating a brave environment that fosters a welcoming, supportive, and non-judgmental community.
